The lake is stocked with thousands of pounds of adult fish annually, including rainbow trout in March and October and channel catfish in the summer. Other species available for fishing include blue and shovelhead catfish, yellow perch, and panfish. Electric trolling motors are permitted, and personal watercraft such as canoes and kayaks are allowed on the lake on Tuesdays. The institution also features a full-service boathouse, reservable Chart Room, Riverside Lodge, and Shady Elm Shelter for group outings. Picnic areas, a playground, and access to the Little Miami River are also available. The boathouse offers everything anglers need, including rods, reels, live bait, snacks, beer, and bathrooms. Lake Isabella Campground consists of 24 primitive tent sites in a shaded grove near the river and boathouse. Fishing tickets are required for each angler, and an Ohio State Fishing License is not necessary.
