Edward Peel Coleman Community Center
The Edward Peel Coleman Community Center, located at 1400 Sherrick Road Southeast in Canton, Ohio, is a hub of activity and learning for the local community. Named after former Canton City Councilman Edward “Peel” Coleman, the center has been home to various organizations over the years, including the Stark County Urban League, YMCA of Greater Stark County, and more recently Head Start and Canton Parks and Recreation. The center has undergone major building upgrades and renovations since 2019, including a full renovation of the gym in 2020. The gym now features new basketball hoops, portable bleachers, court dividers, and a brand new gym floor with NBA and OHSAA regulation length 3-point lines. The gym was dedicated to the long-time Youth Development Director for the City of Canton, Paul Martin.
