Welcome to Five Span Park, a treasured part of the Paulding County Park District, located at 19483 Ohio 637, Defiance, Ohio. Our mission is to create, enhance, and protect the natural and cultural resources of Paulding County while fostering respect and stewardship of these resources. We are committed to providing quality outdoor recreational opportunities for the citizens of Paulding County and surrounding areas. Established by the Paulding County Commissioners in 2003, the Park District began with 80 acres in Crane Township and has since expanded to encompass the entire county. In 2014, the Park District faced dissolution due to inactivity, but thanks to the dedication of community members like Linda Hodges, it was revitalized and reorganized in 2015. Today, our volunteer board works tirelessly to grow and maintain the park's assets, recognizing the essential role parks play in enhancing community life.

Welcome to Forrest Woods Nature Preserve, a captivating park and tourist attraction nestled in Cecil, Ohio. Located at Township Highway T-192, this 393-acre preserve is the largest owned by The Conservancy and serves as a vital remnant of the historic Great Black Swamp. This remarkable site is a sanctuary for 39 rare, threatened, and endangered species of plants and animals, offering a unique glimpse into the region's natural heritage. Since 2016, our dedicated team has undertaken significant stream and wetland restoration projects at Forrest Woods, revitalizing 145 acres of natural habitat. We've transformed nearly a mile of agricultural ditches back into thriving streams, enhancing the ecological balance of this precious landscape.
