James A. Garfield National Historic Site
The James A. Garfield National Historic Site, located at 8095 Mentor Avenue in Mentor, Ohio, is a museum and tourist attraction dedicated to the life and legacy of President James A. Garfield. The site features his historic home, including the front porch where he greeted supporters during his presidential campaign in 1880. Guided tours of the Garfield home are available daily, with specific tour times varying so it is recommended to call ahead. The site also offers free 4th grade programs and opportunities for scouts to earn merit badges. Visitors can join rangers and volunteers at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater on April 8 to view a total solar eclipse.
