Kent State University May 4 Visitors Center
Kent State University May 4 Visitors Center, located at 300 Midway Drive in Kent, Ohio, is a museum and tourist attraction dedicated to preserving the memory of the tragic events of May 4, 1970. The institution recently released a "Mapping the Future: May 4 Visitors Center 2022 Visioning Report" outlining their plans for the future. Unfortunately, the May 4 Memorial was damaged by a storm in August, but Kent State University is working on a repair plan to restore it. Visitors can stay updated on the progress by checking the center's website. One of the current exhibitions at the center is "Graphic Content: Cartoons of May 4," which showcases the work of various artists who have depicted the events of May 4 through comic strips, political cartoons, comic books, and graphic novels. Featured artists include Chuck Ayers, Derf Backderf, and Katherine Wirick.
