Emmanuel Lutheran Church
Welcome to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, a vibrant place of worship and community located at 705 South Washington Street, Van Wert, Ohio. Established in the fall of 1870, our congregation has a rich history of faith and fellowship. Initially gathering in a space above a hardware store, we celebrated the completion of our first official church building on December 29, 1872. In August 1874, we proudly joined the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, aligning with a tradition of strong Lutheran values and teachings. Over the years, our church has evolved to accommodate a growing congregation. In the spring of 1948, we began construction on our current church building and attached parsonage, which were dedicated in August 1949. Today, Emmanuel Lutheran Church continues to serve as a spiritual home for many, offering worship services, community events, and opportunities for spiritual growth. We invite you to join us in worship and experience the warmth and hospitality of our faith community.
