United American Cemetery
The United American Cemetery, located on Duck Creek Road in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a historic African American burial ground. Founded in 1883, the cemetery includes graves dating back to 1832, with prominent landscape architect Adolph Strauch designing the grounds. This resting place is home to Underground Railroad figures, writers, politicians, businesspeople, artists, Civil Rights leaders, and many military veterans, including over 55 African American veterans of the Civil War. Originally founded by the United Colored American Association, ownership was later transferred to the Union Baptist Church. Welcome to River Valley Church, a vibrant place of worship located at 2261 South Miami Street, West Milton, Ohio. As a welcoming community of faith, we invite you to join us every Sunday for Bible Study from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Choose from a variety of classes, including a young adults class, studies through books of the Bible, a class for 7th–12th graders, and more. We start with worship through song, followed by teachings from our plural teaching ministry, where five elders preach on a rotation, often focusing on a specific theme.
