Constructed between 1974 and 1978 in Greenup, Kentucky, this 33-foot, 14-ton vessel was a groundbreaking achievement as the first concrete-reinforced houseboat of its kind. Named after Bob’s beloved wife, Laura Avenell, the Laura VII—now affectionately known as The Laura VI—was an ambitious project that captivated the local community.
