The first facility opened in the Logan Homes Housing Project, with Grace O’Neal as the dedicated teacher. Despite financial challenges, the daycare ensured that children did not go hungry, thanks to the generosity of local business owner Mr. Swaringen. With the support of John Larkin, the daycare obtained certification and licensing from the state of North Carolina, becoming the first licensed daycare in Cabarrus County.
