"Great trail"
"Great trail, but no real parking at the head. We drove down the trail a little and found some parking to the side. We hiked down to Grassy Gap and took that to the Falls Lake loop. Grassy Gap is thinner and not quite as level as Sassafras."

"5 out of 5 would recommend to a friend. We had so much fun laughing the second half of the trail because we finally realized we were DRIVING *the* trail! Oops! Wasn't very clear to leave your car AT the ENTRANCE of the ROAD by the sign and that the road IS the trail! There was no clear place to park the car by the sign so we figured there was a more official trail head further up. We ended up parking on the other side just off Racoon Rd. and walking a bit of Grassy Gap which intersects Sassafras. Grassy Gap was an easy walking trail with a slight incline. It did lead to what looked like a more strenuous incline past Racoon Rd, we decided to go back and venture on the same trail on the other side of Sassafras. Crossed over a cute little bridge."
"We enjoyed the trail which is a gravel and dirt road without homes. Within 50 yards of the end, which is a paved road, is the "Grassy Gap Trail." We took the GGT to the left and headed down along a creek. It was beautiful! The water churned over the rocks in the river bad and the sound is soothing. We hiked about .5 miles to the end which is another paved road. There are two quaint tree bridges that cross this part of the trail which are nice as well. Four stars for the beauty. 2 stars for the difficulty as it was more a walking trail than a hiking trail. Overall we enjoyed the exercise and beauty!"
