"This complaint is not about the care one receives at this facility, it’s about the staff checking in patients. A week ago I brought in a dear friend for her first appointment. She got excellent care, she was there for 3 hours and they covered all the bases within this building! She was very happy and said “ Finally, someone who really listens!” That experience was excellent. My problem is that 2 people working at the desk and checking in and out patients, were obviously very sick. They were coughing, sneezing, blowing noses and generally not washing their hands, at all. 3 days after sitting in the waiting room, I became sick. This is an office where seniors come for help. Older citizens are much more apt to catch viruses and have dangerous effects. I have been a hospital employee for 20 years, and I was appalled. We cleaned our hands in between every patient, and wore masks if we had colds and coughed. If you are sick, stay at home and get well!"

"Disappointing! Overall, out of touch with the needs of the elderly and geriatrics. Yes! Read it again! My mother has relayed multiple concerns including: Failure to treat the patient as a whole and remember that just because a patient is older it doesn’t mean they don’t have more life to live. (Ex. Advising my close to 80-year-old mother that she doesn’t need a Pap smear when in fact she does. She insisted it! ) She wants to live her best life as long as she can and her health is important. In addition, their failure and gross negligence to respond timely to requests for prescription refills and follow through to ensure the CORRECT pharmacy receives prescriptions is shameful. It has taken weeks to refill and transfer prescriptions for my elderly mother. Slow and inefficient come to mind. Repeatedly! I DON’T RECOMMEND UNC GERIATRICS AT THIS TIME! They need improvements. LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS! GET IN TOUCH WITH THE ELDERLY! I’m helping my mother find another provider better centered on her health and well-being."
