Dr. Challie Minton is a Board Certified Family Physician and the proud owner of Surry Rural Health Center, Scenic Urgent Care, and Scenic Pharmacy located at 113 Scenic Outlet Lane in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Dr. Minton's lifelong dream has been to provide comprehensive healthcare to the rural areas of North Carolina and Virginia. He offers care for adults, children, women's health, and minor surgical needs, with a special focus on skin cancer removal, skin grafting, in-office vasectomy, and circumcision procedures. Dr. Minton's medical journey began as a corpsman in the US Navy, leading him to obtain his LPN licensure and eventually attend medical school at Ross University. After completing his medical residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Dr. Minton served as a physician in the US Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Major and completing a tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2012. In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Minton and his wife Catherine operate an AirBnB business on their 250-acre farm in Lowgap/Beulah community. Dr. Minton is an Eagle Scout, an active member of Antioch Baptist Church, and volunteers as the on-call camp physician at Raven Knob Scout Reservation. Teirraha Lowe, a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, brings her passion for working with children and adolescents to the practice after years of experience at Brenner Children's Hospital.
