"My father has been coming to the Durham, NC VA Hospital for years. He has had excellent care. His providers are knowledgeable and friendly and above all, all staff are very respectful. Numerous people thank him for his service. I have even noticed that VA staff tries very hard to not overtake slow-walking or elderly veterans and try to maintain a respectful distance when they are trying to get to where they are going. Everyone is very helpful and will ask if you need help finding where you are headed. We just arrived back home after another ER visit, and once again, the experience was “nice,” if you can use the term for an emergency visit."

"Absolutely the worst. Will cancel an appointment with no heads up. If you’re lucky enough to get someone to answer the phone, they’ll give you the runaround. You’ll never get a call back from anyone. Tried subjecting me to unnecessary testing. I’ve transferred to Fayetteville due to the poor experiences with this hospital. This hospital is the embodiment of the VA’s reputation of being the place you go when you’re ready to die."

"I live in Dallas and receive tremendous care at the VA facility here. For the past few years, part of that care has been to help me overcome the lingering consequences of a serious back injury. The physical therapists at VA Durham are recognized nationally for a program they administer for vets in my ¹condition. Recently my participation in that program was elevated and I have weekly phone conversations with a therapist there. This has been very productive and I am grateful to have this resource. Durham should be proud to have this expertise in your community. I know we military types like to complain -- about the chow lines, the hurry up and wait, the paperwork and more. Accountability is important, but so is so is recognizing achievement and having each other's back. My exposure to your system is limited to this one clinic and it is superb. For those who are dissatisfied, I hope it gets better for you. Perhaps you should honestly contimplate the alternative and you may realize you have it pretty good. At least that's been my experience."

"Really good VA hospital for veterans. I have had 4 surgeries here and trust them completely. Always helpful and seems like they really care. The facilities are always well maintained and all of the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This facility has plenty of parking and is convenient to the hospital. I really appreciate everything they do for me."

"I was visiting a friend in the area when he had a procedure here. I came with him to see if I could refill my blood pressure medication, I was not able to get a refill as I am from another state. The parking is a very compact multiple six floor parking garage and was full to the sixth deck on a Thursday. you show i.d. to leave and not enter. best part was a covered walkway to the building from the fourth floor of the parking deck."
