Broughton Hospital

"So for starters, the food, fantastic. The hamburgers made of crushed worms really hit the spot every meal, especially when added with the moldy, hard mashed potatoes. The clumps of hair in my food really added that extra texture. Sleeping on a slab of cold concrete and strapped down with duct tape really made it so my back hurt enough to distract from what they said was “insanity”, so it’s a win win. The employees were very kind! Mr Philip once wished me a happy 1/3 birthday by putting me in a headlock and choking me until i nearly died, which gave me a temporary purple tattoo on my neck. Thanks Mr Philip! During Christmas, they would hook us up to the electrotherapy machinery and crank it up on the highest setting until we felt like a christmas light! Saint Patricks is the most fun; the little leprechauns come to visit us. They’re rats. They try to hug us with their teeth! Last year they gave me a gift, but the said it was bad. They called it rabies i think? Instead of painting the rooms green, the rats would use the patients to splatter our red paint everywhere! The only reason I gave it four stars is because Santa never came around to visit, which really sucked. The employees are super fun though! They like to wrestle with the patients, but they shout a lot and use tasers. The other patients are great. They like to scream a lot at night, but I like to think they’re just singing. Mr Philip tased me a few times, but it’s ok, because it’s just like electrotherapy, and the doctors say that it helps!"

"My time at Broughton State Hospital was characterized by an extremely negative work atmosphere. The staff consisted entirely of relatives who frequently engaged in backstabbing gossip about one another. This left me feeling like an outsider, and I derived no pleasure from working there. Colleague conversations were often negative and resentful, offering little to no new insights. If you value positivity and diversity and are open-minded, Broughton State Hospital may not be the best work environment for you."

"ok so i went to broughton not to long ago and i stayed in the kid unit 1b and i had an amazing time there the staff were so kind and understanding they helped me get throw some hurtful things i had to go threw as a kid im still battleing my probloms but now i have a better way of handleing them"

"I really enjoyed this place! Me and the mold in the shower had many great conversations. That staff treated me well! I got potato shavings for a great daily meal. When they spit in your food it adds a lot of flavor. Also, if you scream for Larry in the middle of the night he will come in your cell and strangle you till you “fall asleep.” It’s his form of melatonin. The peach pits for dessert really changed my mind about this place. Loved it, would go again. (Just for the peach pits ;)"
