"*This review isn’t at all about living in this apartment complex itself since I only went for a tour.* I must say this place is absolutely gorgeous. The apartment itself as beautiful, It gave you a vintage, yet up to date and modern feel, the apartment was very spacious as well. Madison was absolutely amazing, I called earlier to see if I could do any last minute tours since I was in the community, I ended popping up here and I was able to do a self-guided tour. After the tour Madison answered all questions, and left us feeling confident about the complex. Looking forward to leasing here Update: I am leasing here now and it is wonderful. The application process was smooth even though it was over the holidays. The birkdale family helped me every step of the way."

"If you are reading this in 2023 or 2024, do not lease here! Today is my fourth day at The Fairways at Birkdale and I am already planning my move out. If you’re 50/50 on leasing here, let this review be the warning you need to look elsewhere. I’d like to start by saying that the folks in the leasing department are some of the nicest, most helpful people around. This review is not a reflection of the staff or residents, as everyone in the office has been so kind. That said, I feel compelled to warn those looking for accommodations in this area. Lease somewhere else! I’m an attorney for a private equity company and I relocate a lot for work. In the past 10 years I’ve lived in LA, Chicago, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. Over this time I’ve leased roughly 12 different homes/apartments/townhomes and toured hundreds of other complexes - The Fairways at Birkdale ranks at the very bottom. If you are looking for high quality or “nice” accommodations, please look elsewhere (recommendations at the end). I leased this unit sight unseen (I know, that was dumb) and upon arriving and seeing my unit I mentioned to the leasing office that I was looking for a remodeled unit. They clarified that my unit was a “remodeled” unit. The carpet is cheap, there was dirt in the bathtub, the bathroom tile is yellow and black, and there are plenty of chips and scuffs throughout. The dim lighting alone transports me to the early 2000s. To top this off, the hot water appears to run out after a few minutes. I’ll admit, I’m a tough critic, but you can get substantially more “bang for your buck” if you lease elsewhere. After taking the first day to contemplate my options, I spent my second day in North Carolina touring a half dozen apartments at a similar price point. After touring all over (in person this time!), I suggest leasing at any of the following complexes: Holy Crest, Legacy Cornelius, The Linden, or The Junction. I myself am in between Holy Crest or just living in Charlotte and increasing my commute. Sadly, I’m locked into my lease for 60 days and have to pay a substantial penalty to break my lease. Don’t be like me! Lease elsewhere!"

She was very thorough with her information so I knew exactly what to expect. The community seems peaceful and the location is stellar. I highly recommend this complex and look forward to moving in!"
