Middle Fork Greenway
The Middle Fork Greenway is a park located at 166 Furman Road in Boone, North Carolina, United States. It is one of two newly installed bridges spanning the New River at the 321 Trailhead. The greenway project aims to connect Blowing Rock to Boone, providing safe and healthy access to the natural world for residents and visitors of all ages. With one mile of trail and three pocket parks already complete, the Middle Fork Greenway offers a range of benefits for the community. This multi-use recreational trail is a Blue Ridge Conservancy project in partnership with the Town of Blowing Rock, Town of Boone, and Watauga County. The greenway will eventually span approximately 6.5 miles and connect with the existing Boone Greenway, creating over 15 miles of contiguous trail. The project faces challenges such as topography and a trout stream, leading to some sections having a 6-8 ft wide natural surface trail.
