"We purchased a home that was recently renovated by this company (the owners left the notebooks with the bills, receipts, etc put together by the co) and was disappointed to realize there were several issues with the quality of the work: specifically: the closet pieces were not anchored to studs in the wall. Consequently, the pieces fell down within 24 hours of hanging clothes, and took drywall down also. We had to hire someone to remove all the pieces, repair the drywall, and paint before I had Carolina Closets come in to redo all the closets. When I stopped by Home Source on Charlotte St (notebooks in hand) and told them what happened, their response was "Well now you'll have the closets you want" while my response was the closets should have been installed properly to begin with. In addition, the wood oak floors have small slits in places where the wood was not laid correctly, locks (including the front door) are crooked, and nearly every window had paint on where the molding was painted so I had to take a razor blade to take the paint off the window. In one bathroom the vanity was not brought down flush to the floor so there is unfinished space. Grout is smeared over tile in bathrooms. the chandelier in the front hallway (weighed 26 pounds) was not anchored properly (screwed into the wood instead of being anchored into a stud) so we took it down and had a new chandelier anchored properly. And, that's not all of it. In summary, sloppy work. If you use this company, inspect everything. I made the attempt to resolve some of the issues by stopping by Home Source's office on Charlotte Street before taking my complaints public. As described above, the response was wholly inadequate. As for the previous owner not bringing up these issues: they didn't know the closet shelving was not secured into the studs; nor did they know the chandelier wasn't secured into studs. These are not things homeowners see until an accident happens or the drywall is opened up. Sadly, very disappointing work."

"I had left a negative review for Home Source last year, but somehow it disappeared. I wonder how they were able to do that? We had an absolutely terrible experience with this company for an extensive renovation of our home in 2021-2022. We do not recommend them. If you want to have an on time, on budget project, look elsewhere in Asheville to Jade or JAG. You will pay more, but it will be worth it to avoid the headaches and heartaches."
