The organization's mission is to promote mission aviation by mentoring and training individuals dedicated to serving as pilots and mechanics in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide. The institution had its beginnings in the Missionary Aviation Institute (MAI), the aviation division for pilot and maintenance training at Piedmont Baptist College in Winston-Salem, NC. Founded by U.S. Air Force veteran Davis Goodman, MAI trained individuals who later served faithfully around the world.
