The Historic Railroad Depot, located at 650 Maple Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina, is a museum and tourist attraction that is home to the Apple Valley Model Railroad Club. Housed inside the 1902 Hendersonville Railroad Depot, the club's HO layout features a Western North Carolina setting with a main yard in Asheville. The layout also includes a G Scale All-Weather Layout located outside behind the Depot. Using a Digital Command Control (DCC) radio system, visitors can watch a wide variety of locomotives and rolling stock run through the intricate layout. The club is open to group visits of 10 or more and also conducts prototypical operating sessions once a month. The Depot has recently undergone improvements including upgrades to the restrooms, new lighting, and a fresh paint job on the historic Southern Rwy caboose.
