"I am a frequent shopper to Belk. One thing that really kills me is that they do not provide with carts. A middle aged with moving problems and pain at the back..it is like you penalize the customer for coming in to shop..I do not come in to get one blouse and leave. I really suffer to have to carry around an arm with 10 pieces because I have to Mach them...really is a big problem...plus the moving escalator is very quick and not every one can use it especially going down..."

"I went to Belk's on Friday afternoon. This place used to be so clean and read-up, nothing out of place and lots of registers open and employees ready to help you at any place, any time!!! The store Friday was in shambles!!! There were racks of clothes jammed against other racks, clothes all over the floor, even the new expensive items. It was total disgrace!!! I waited behind 4 people at a register for over 20 min. The clerks that were actually at a register were so slow, like they had all day long to bring up all sales. I was so very frustrated that I didn't even continue shopping. I bought the item and walked out???"

"As many post before, don't expect multiple registers for quick check out. Outside of that, great selection, and great place for the kids to walk during the weekday since it doesn't seem to be super busy. Outside of that, I would say they have ROSS dept store levels of customer service."

"I am not one to leave bad reviews. However, I'd like to know how can a department store like Belk's have only one register with only one cashier open for the entire store at 11:30am on a Thursday right before Christmas? And this is how it is there at other times if the year too. After waiting in line with no movement I gave up and left my pile of what I wanted to purchase on a display table and left the store."

"Nice sale going on right now. Huge clearance on Winter items with some good discounts up to 75% off. Good time to stock up with some major brand names. There was a time Belk seemed to rich for me. I think that was because of my Mom, God rest her Soul. 3 things you didn’t ask for, 1- was you didn’t ask to go to Belk, 2- You didn’t ask to go to Charlotte and 3- you didn’t ask for Shrimp at the Fish Camp. I’m being comical but that was the way it was growing up poor. Belk is still a moderately exclusive store, but bargains are to be had. I can’t wait till there buy 1 get 2 free sale. Yeah, you heard that right. Buy 1 get 2 free. I bought 3 70.00 Canvas coats last year. 2 for me and 2 for my son who works in the cold."
