Shamieka Virella Dixon, MD is a doctor specializing in adolescent medicine located at 3541 Randolph Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Dixon believes in providing comprehensive and confidential care to empower adolescents to live healthy and authentic lives. She is board certified in pediatrics and adolescent medicine, serving as the director of Adolescent Medicine at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Center for Gender Health and Teen Health Connection. Dr. Dixon has a special interest in transgender health, reproductive health, and mental health issues such as depression and anxiety in adolescents and young adults. She is currently conducting research in these areas. Dr. Dixon received her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Children’s National Hospital, followed by a fellowship in adolescent medicine at Johns Hopkins University.
