Forest Hills Park
Forest Hills Park is a historic and picturesque 45.86 acre park located in East Central Durham, North Carolina. The park features a beautiful colonial revival-style clubhouse that was built in 1928, replacing the original clubhouse that was destroyed by fire. Originally part of a golf course owned by the New Hope Realty Company, the clubhouse was later transformed into the first home of Annie Hill's Calvert Method School by John Sprunt Hill. In 1938, Hill generously deeded the land and building to the City, with the stipulation that it serve as a public library. Although the library function was removed in the 1950s, the building continues to serve the community as a vibrant community center.
