Sloop Chapel
Sloop Chapel, located in Newland, North Carolina, is a church and place of worship that is part of Crossnore Communities for Children. The mission of Crossnore is to provide a Christian sanctuary of hope and healing for children and families. The chapel houses the powerful fresco "Suffer the Little Children" by Ben Long, depicting the biblical verse Mark 10:14. Long, one of only four master fresco artists in the world, is renowned for his skill in creating luminous and permanent images using lime, sand, water, and pigment. The chapel is open for viewings daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
