"***UPDATE 03/15/2021: Actually, I took them to court to try and get my deposit back, but the magistrate, not a judge, decided not to give me my deposit back because I terminated the lease early. There is nothing misleading about my review; why would I take the time to write a review, much less keep it current, if my experience wasn't 100% true. Furthermore, It's a flat-out lie that they took me to court for unpaid rent. I paid rent on time for the two months I was there and terminated my lease early because they would not rectify the heating issues - apparently not a concern of the magistrate of Mitchell County. It was the dead of winter, 2 degrees outside and so cold in the apartment that my phone wouldn't charge and my computer wouldn't work. I had 5 space heaters going to the tune of $216 for one month trying to keep the apartment above 55 degrees, which I was never able to do. The apartment itself was very nice, although it is located in a weird dilapidated and abandoned strip mall property, but the apartment was not my issue. The issue was there was no reliable heat and they would not fix it. The state of the rest of the property concerned me only because of fire safety. At the time, a great deal of paint cans, cardboard, and wood were being stored in the vacant areas on the property with no fire alarms anywhere. Mr. Franklin's response only serves to galvanize my position that this company, and Mr. Franklin in particular, are lairs and do not care about their tenants. Certainly not with the property I had the misfortune of renting. ORIGINAL POST: If I were able to rate no stars, I would. The rental agent, Peter Franklin, lied openly about the property I rented, there was no heat, no weather stripping, no smoke detectors in vacant, dilapidated areas of the building, no outdoor lighting for stairs that I can only describe as extremely dangerous, and they did nothing to rectify the issues even after numerous complaints and correspondence. They should be ashamed of themselves."
