Home Coming
Home Coming is a unique institution located at 608 North Bridge Street in Elkin, North Carolina, United States. Currently, visits, reservations, and events are paused as the owners, Sam and Deborah, take time to nurture each other and enjoy their private home. The history of Home Coming dates back to the 1940s when a kangaroo named Jeepers became a mascot of the property. Staff Sergeant Lester C. Couch brought Jeepers from Australia to be a pet for his brother, Coney. The legacy of the Couch family and the Rock House, later renamed Home Coming, is rich with history and unique stories. While the institution no longer serves food or operates as a traditional bed and breakfast, it has transitioned into a vacation or event rental. Guests who have stayed at Home Coming in the past have left generous comments about their experience. The owners believe in the motto, "Home - where each lives for the other and all live for God."
