About the Business

Welcome to Bridge Gardens, a serene five-acre sanctuary nestled in the heart of Bridgehampton, New York. Located at 36 Mitchell Lane, our unique public and demonstration garden invites visitors to explore its diverse array of plant life and sustainable gardening practices. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Bridge Gardens offers free admission to all.
Originally donated by Jim Kilpatric and Harry Neyens in 2008, Bridge Gardens is now lovingly maintained by the Peconic Land Trust. The garden retains its original charm while embracing new elements that align with our conservation mission. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of native and non-native perennials, shrubs, and trees, a vast vegetable garden supporting local food pantries, and a stunning rose garden. Our distinctive 4-quadrant herb garden showcases culinary, medicinal, ornamental, and textile/dye plants.
Bridge Gardens serves as a dynamic outdoor classroom and community resource under the guidance of Garden Director Rick Bogusch. We offer a free self-guided virtual tour through the TravelStorys app, narrated by Rick and Senior Manager of Outreach Kathy Kennedy, providing insights into the garden's history and plant species.
Volunteers with a passion for horticulture are welcome to join our efforts, whether it’s helping with special projects, maintaining garden beds, or assisting with tours. Our community garden plots thrive under the care of dedicated gardeners like Heidi Rain, who finds solace in tending to our roses.
Bridge Gardens is also a pickup location for Quail Hill Farm’s CSA Summer Box Shares, available on Saturdays from June through October. Additionally, you can purchase beautiful notecards featuring images of the garden, captured by photographer Jeff Heatley.
Our calendar is filled with educational programs, arts classes, music performances, and more, running from April through December. Feel free to bring blankets and picnics to enjoy amidst the lush surroundings.
We extend our gratitude to our members and donors, whose support helps our programs flourish. Yearly memberships offer benefits such as reduced fees for workshops and events. Join us in supporting the garden's growth and educational mission.
Bridge Gardens acknowledges the ancestral territory of Indigenous communities and honors their stewardship of the land. Please note, the Peconic Land Trust raises funds independently and does not collect the 2% real estate transfer tax.
Visit Bridge Gardens, where nature, community, and conservation come together in a harmonious blend. Free parking is available, and we welcome pets on leashes with proper cleanup. We look forward to sharing this special place with you.

Reviews
"Loved the herb gardens and appreciate that they are trying to develop their other gardens. I wish that they had more signs identifying the herbs. They have a QR code for videos of each of the 4 herb beds, but in bright summer sunshine, it's hard to watch it. They don't have any signs on the flowers and vegetables in their other gardens, but I wish that they did. Also, I wish they had signs for the 2 pieces of modern art in the gardens."
"Beautiful, gardens. Well worth visiting."
"Nice gardens to walk around for 20-30 mins. Plenty of parking."
"Beautiful gardens with cool artwork displayed all around the gardens! I highly recommend if you're looking for a peaceful/beautiful place to walk around. When I visited on a Saturday afternoon it was pretty empty. Had the gardens all to myself. They have picnic tables and benches!"
"This garden is a gem! On a Saturday afternoon we only saw 2 other families touring the gardens, so plenty of space for everyone. Our 3 year old loved chasing butterflies and moving around on the garden grounds freely. He was also very curious to see and identify all of the growing produce - tomatoes, eggplant, kale, beans, lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower, chard, collards, carrots and many more!"
