However, former students have the opportunity to continue their education through teach-out agreements with SUNY Empire and Five Towns College. These agreements ensure that students can complete their studies with minimal disruption. Current LIBI Court Reporting students and those who last attended as Court Reporting students within one year of the closing date have the opportunity to participate in the teach-out program. Additionally, 1098T forms for 2023 will be mailed to students by the IRS deadline of January 31, 2024. LIBI voluntarily withdrew its recognition through the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges effective January 27, 2024. While the closure of LIBI marks the end of an era, the legacy of excellence and dedication to higher education will endure as a testament to the transformative power of knowledge.
