"As a child, this is where I went for about 5 years until my Bar Mitzvah. About a month after my Bar Mitzvah in 2001, I snapped and refused to lead a service here due to the forbiddance of instrumental music on Shabbat and High Holiday mornings. Disconnecting from here and attending fewer services as a teen allowed me to feel much more comfortable with myself and pursue music and performance interests outside of here. In 2010, I moved to California to pursue acting and singing, and I found synagogues where I feel much more comfortable and that embrace new melodies and Shabbat and High Holiday morning instrumental music."

"I have been a member of CBSCS for over 60 years, since its inception. My wife and I were married in the synagogue. My parents who are in their 90's are still active participants. Everyone is welcome. Rabbi Steinitz is making services creative while keeping the Jewish traditions that are so comforting. CBS-CS is community! Whether in times of need or celebration, the members and its leaders are always there for you."
