Our facility is situated in the scenic surroundings of Van Cortlandt Park, providing easy access to the park's numerous attractions and activities. Whether you're visiting for a leisurely stroll, a day at the pool, or a special event, our parking area offers a hassle-free experience.
Please note that if you're planning a BBQ with more than 20 attendees, a Special Event permit is required. You can apply for one [here](https://nyceventpermits.nyc.gov/Parks/). We encourage all visitors to practice safety and courtesy by maintaining a safe distance from others while barbecuing and ensuring the area is clean before leaving. Remember to dispose of coal and matches in designated barrels and use water to extinguish hot coals to prevent any damage to our beautiful park.
For dog owners, please keep your pets on leashes unless they are in a designated dog run area. If you're interested in fishing, Van Cortlandt Lake offers catch and release opportunities, but make sure to have a valid fishing license if you're 16 or older. While personal boats are not allowed on the lake, keep an eye on our calendar for occasional boating events hosted by local groups.
The park features a 1.5-mile running track around the Parade Ground and various playgrounds, which close at dusk. Please check the status of fields with the Parade Ground hotline at 718-430-1862, especially during active permit seasons.
