Asian and Asian American Studies

The Center for Italian Studies
The Center for Italian Studies, located at E4340 Melville Library in Stony Brook, New York, is a university institution dedicated to promoting the study and appreciation of Italian culture, history, and language. Through a variety of programs, events, and initiatives, the center aims to engage students, teachers, and the local community in meaningful discussions and activities related to Italy. One upcoming event at the center features Dr. Oronzo Brunetti from the University of Naples Federico II, who will be presenting on Carl Hubacher's photographs of Puglia, focusing on the unique trulli houses. Additionally, a program with Professor Roger Thompson will highlight the conservation efforts for the Apennine bear, also known as the “Italian Grizzly.”
