NY Imaging Specialists - Port Jefferson

"I was very disappointed & would Not return to the same office. I was very upset with the initial assistance/greeting I receive when I 1st entered the office. I visited the Port Jefferson office on 01/29/24 for a 6pm appointment. When I stepped into the office- I was confused & simply wanted to ask if I was in the right place. The receptionist was on the phone. So I waited patiently to get some sort of acknowledgment but I was never greeted. She never made no eye contact or a wave to acknowledge me. Rather the receptionist continued talking on the phone - ( a conversation I overheard about the work program). I stood in the waiting area of the drs office for what seemed a life time- with no acknowledgement . Then another patient approached from the back of the office, that patient was acknowledged and taken care of. While I still stood there with no assistance. I understand that sometimes there is a wait, I must be patient but it was getting to the point where I wanted to walk out. Then finally about 5 minutes after arriving I hear "hello- what is your name?". I provided my name, as I explained I was there to have an MRI & I wasn't sure if I was even in the right building. The receptionist continued to rudely dismiss me- not answering if I was at the right place. She simply had her face glued to the computer, no eye contact as she laughed about how she could not find my name on the list. Then she found my name, told me I was in the right place (finally ) as she handed me a clip board. Then she proceeded to pick up the phone & apologized to whoever she was talking to that she was interrupted. I attempted to ask a question as she handed me the clip board & I dismissed once again. My experience It was very very very unprofessional, rude and I felt it was to the point of being disrespectful- to treat a patient that way. I was nervous about the procedure, had questions since it was my 1st time in that office but I was dismissed, Ignored and treated like I was bothering the employee. I would not return to that location or recommend it to any family or friends. The only positive thing was the kind Interaction I had with the Nurse & the Tech. But even with that- I would not return because of how I was initially treated"

"The technician’s were very nice. I felt bad they couldn’t find the vein and 1 technician the man said we might have to reschedule but the other technician a young lady said let’s try one more time though I had to get stuck 4 times she was able to get it on the 5th try. I had to wait a good few minutes since there was only 1 technician working. I did good with the MRI tests the technician said."

"I had my MRI done on a Sunday (1/21) and wondered how my appointment would go considering the fact it was on a weekend. I went better than expected. I was in and out in record time. The nurse and MRI Technician were friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this organization."

They put my mother at ease every step of the way, going above and beyond by getting her several warm blankets, talking her through the whole process and allowing me to remain in the same room with my mom most of the time within safety limits.
