Spanning approximately 75 acres, Nuthatch Hollow is a haven of diverse habitats, including lush woodlands, a meandering stream, vibrant scrubland, and expansive grasslands. This rich variety of environments supports an incredible diversity of wildlife, making it a treasured bird sanctuary. Originally owned by Robert Schumann, Nuthatch Hollow has been generously gifted to Binghamton University's Environmental Studies Program. It serves as a vital site for research and education, fostering a deeper understanding of ecological systems and conservation efforts. The area is also the proposed site of a groundbreaking Living Building, further enhancing its role as a center for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
