Serving as a place of worship, school, secondary school, and synagogue, Maharat stands at the forefront of religious and educational innovation. Founded in 2009, we are proud to be the first yeshiva to ordain women as Orthodox clergy. This groundbreaking initiative, led by Rabba Sara Hurwitz and Rabbis Avi Weiss and Daniel Sperber, opens new pathways for women to serve as credentialed clergy, enriching our community with diverse voices and perspectives.
