Little Jewel Childcare, INC is a unique group-family daycare in Inwood, New York, dedicated to the Waldorf philosophy. Our nurturing and home-like environment focuses on the holistic development of children, including their body, soul, and spirit. We believe in experiential learning and provide opportunities for children to interact with nature in all four seasons. Our indoor space is carefully designed with natural materials, and we follow a well-ordered daily routine that changes with the seasons. This rhythmical element provides a sense of consistency and security for the children.
We also prioritize empathy, moral responsibility, and creative play in our curriculum. Our caregivers are fluent in both English and Spanish, and they teach songs, poems, and movement games in both languages to take advantage of the children's ability to learn languages at a young age.

"I love Little Jewel because it was an extended family for my girl. It was very important for me that when she was away from her parents she felt loved and happy besides being well cared and educated. There was never a day that she didn’t want to go to daycare. She learned so much, that I was kinda amazed that she knew letters and numbers in Spanish and English... "A true Inwood treasure! Definitely one of the best (if not the best) daycare in Inwood! I hear friends complaining of their children crying during daycare drop off...but I've NEVER seen that at little jewels. Our little one is always so happy and giggly when she sees the care providers, and I've never seen any of her friends cry during drop off. Very meticulous, clean, caring, and everyone there clearly loves what they do. As an educator, I am impressed by their interactive curriculum: In addition to free play, they take the kids to the park everyday (weather permitting), they do yoga (yes our daughter can do her version of down-dog and plank at 7 months!), sing, teach sign language, read stories on a daily basis, arts and crafts and don't fetter to communicate any issues they notice with our child. Thank you little Jewels, you guys are the best!"
"We were planning on moving out of Inwood until we found Little Jewel. We could not be happier because our children could not be happier. We have so much trust in the care that Cindy and Juby provide for our two children (we started there when our son was 2 years old and our daughter was 4 months old). They bake together, they do art together, they take nature walks, they provide a bi lingual experience, they read to the children, all of the materials and environs are gorgeous. They communicate with us on a daily basis, and the community of families there are wonderful, friendly and active. This is a brilliant childcare center!"
