"I have bilateral foraminal stenosis of the cervical spine, complicated with disc degenerative disease, demylenating lesions and facet joint arthritis. I have incredible neck pain. Because I am young and have complications, providers don’t even give me an exam in office. They read my MRI’s and make me feel like I will live with this pain for the rest of my life. I’m too young for certain therapies… or it’s not bad enough; when the reality is they don’t have experience with complex pathologies. And don’t admit it. Most pain management are strictly orthopedic. I have been in pain management for 12 years, most of that with a neurological pain center. But I have consulted 7 providers. In all those years I never got a straight forward answer. I was given quick fixes, mostly band aids that in the long run create more pain. Gaslit to the point my mental health worsened. Why waste my time anymore? Dr Stanton actually gave me an exam. He checked my mobility and range of motion. He then sat down with me and went over every vertebrae in my neck. Stanton dished out that from an orthopedic standpoint, my nerves are working fine. I assume they are just irritated by the natural inflammation of my body. He didn’t reject me as a liability nor string me along like the rest. I am grateful for that."
