Spring is an especially vibrant time at the sanctuary, with the arrival of migrating owls such as Long-eared, Northern Saw-whet, and possibly Boreal Owls taking refuge in the pine plantations. The sanctuary's diverse habitats also offer sightings of house wrens, winter wrens, thrushes, warblers, vireos, and flycatchers.
