TD Bank

"Wow. I never right reviews. But here it is. I actually logged into my Google account just to help others avoid this horrible branch and frankly, perhaps to avoid TDBank entirely since they allow this branch to operate in such a deplorable way. I usually bank at TDBank branches in Manhattan where I have rarely had an issue with Service. Even though I am often in NYC for work, I live in Milford and umfortunately, this sad Port Jervis branch is the closest one. I have only used it twice but both experiences were horrible. Without going into all the details, during the first visit to a teller I needed to withdraw $4000 dollars. If you saw the transaction activity history on this account, you could see this should not have been a big deal. I usually write checks but I needed cash to buy a used motorcycle as a graduation present for one of the guys who helps me work on old cars (my hobby). The teller was adversarial and contrarian from the moment our transaction/interaction started. She took exception to everything I said, even the weather! Everything I said was wrong and she needed to tell me. Some of what she said was just downright wrong but she seemed determined to prove she was in charge and top dog. Eventually, she forced me to tell her what I did for a living in order for my transaction to be processed! Incredibly, on my account of 16+ years I was required to tell her what I did for a living to make a withdrawal. It felt like she was just trying to prove to me she had the keys to the kingdom and if I wanted my money, she could tell me to jump and how high. I did nothing to complain at that time because I thought any business can have a bad egg or a good egg could have a bad day. Today, I went through the drive through to deposit two checks that were made out to me. I have not been through a drive through in years. I endorsed the checks to deposit them into one of my TDBank accounts, something I have literally done many hundreds of times. In spite of endorsing the check, thereby turning it into cash in the absence of any other stipulations, they forced me to deposit it into a different account which is a joint personal account. They said the requested deposit account had been setup as a business account (LLC) and my endorsed check (endorsed by me) could only be deposited into a personal account! I am the only person on the account, indeed, the only signatory! I said the requested deposit account had not been associated with a business in more than 15 years and that every transaction into that account for the last 16+ years had been made to me by name including every check and funds transfer for the last 16+ years! Once legally endorsed, the check can go anywhere, it is essentially cash. To add insult to injury, once they deposited the funds in my joint account, they put a hold on it...as if just to spite me for clearly showing my dissatisfaction with them... A hold I have never had done to any deposit before and seeming very vindictive. The deposit was offset with a charge for the same amount labeled, "Pending Verification for Deposit". Professionally, I'm a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and I have a credit score of 845 of a possible 850. Meaning, I am neither a financial/banking novice nor am I a fiscal deadbeat. Please join me as I find a bank that knows that the true meaning of convenience isn't being open a few extra hours on Sunday."

"WORST bank in the world right here in Port Jervis NY. Rude female receptionists when I asked to take out 8k they started to complain that it was too much for them to take out and that they could give me 5k because they didn't recognize me but told me I had to wait until the manager was finished with his conference call, I asked to use the bathroom in the mean time and they told me no. I asked how long do I need to wait because I drove over an hour to get there...no idea...so I waited about 20 minutes and had to leave because I couldn't hold it anymore..ended up in a porta-potty down the road at a gas station...came back 10 minutes later and the manager is still locked away in his office...waited another 20 minutes only to have my time wasted even more when Tony took me in the back for another 15 minutes to tell me I can't get my money in cash but he would give me a check...I said well then put everything on that check and I closed my TD account. Also right after I asked to use the bathroom the two females were looking at my account and saying "take a screenshot of that." And "that's weird" etc. talking really loudly and unprofessional for everyone to hear. I will never EVER go back to TD after this horrible experience. Over 2 thousand complaints on BBB with over 600 of them in the last year, that says it all."
