"From the moment my husband and I arrived at Topfield Center, we knew we had found a special place where our son would feel accepted and thrive. Its quiet and beautiful setting overlooking the picturesque Hudson Valley has been an escape from an often chaotic world for our son who is on the autism spectrum. The administration, therapists, volunteers, and entire staff are caring, compassionate, and extremely knowledgable. The wonderful horses are gentle, well-trained and have a unique sensitivity to our son's feelings and needs. Over the past 3 years, our son's sessions have reduced his anxiety, increased his social skills and have provided the important sensory input he seeks. He leaves each session feeling calm, confident and happy. As a result, these skills and confidence transfer into many areas of his life. We are fortunate to have found Topfield Center and to make it such a special part of our lives!"

"Topfield Equestrian is the best experience for anyone who could use a little horse therapy! My daughter has volunteered here for 4 years, and my son, who has Down syndrome and autism, has been a client/rider for 3. He LOVES it. The horses are gentle, the staff is professional and safe, and they provide such a wonderful service. The facilities are absolutely beautiful. Try it out for therapeutic riding, grooming, horse love, etc. You will not regret it! We also get reimbursed through Self Direction."

"I work for a non-profit agency supporting individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Autism. I have experienced first hand the impact and benefit TopField Equine Center has played with an adolescent I support. This particular individual struggles with severe anxiety which impacts his socialization skills and has difficulty with change. He had difficulty communicating with others as he would perseverate on various topics and would experience melt downs because of any change. He began attending TopField and within a couple of months, not only has his time at TopField reduced his anxiety, it has also has increased his self-esteem and he has made strides in his social skills while at the farm and at home. His family noticed considerable progress in his reduction in anxiety and since attending TopField, his melt downs have not occurred. This young man has thrived attending TopField because of the care of the instructors at the farm. TopField is a place that he has found which promotes a therapeutic environment that enriches his skills. This is all attributed to the instructors, barn staff and Executive Directors Claudia and Alex. They are incredible to work with and truly have a passion for helping others through Therapeutic riding. TopField is a beautiful farm with indoor and outdoor rings, and has wheelchair accessible access which you don't see at many therapeutic centers. I highly recommend TopField to anyone to experience and couldn't say enough about how amazing this place is!!"
