Welcome to the Southampton African American Museum (SAAM) Located at 245 North Sea Road, Southampton, New York, the Southampton African American Museum (SAAM) is a vibrant cultural institution dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of African Americans in the East End. Originally established in 2005 as The East End African American Museum and Center for Excellence, SAAM has grown from a virtual museum to a permanent home affectionately known as “The Barbershop.” This historic building, once a local gathering place for African Americans from the 1940s, was designated as the first African American historic landmark in the Village of Southampton in 2010.

Welcome to Ma's House & BIPOC Art Studio Nestled on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton, New York, Ma's House & BIPOC Art Studio serves as a vibrant art space dedicated to uplifting the voices and talents of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Led by Indigenous artist Jeremy Dennis, this unique gallery offers a residency program, shared studio space, and a communal library, all housed in a family home originally built in the 1960s.
