Owners Leda Blumberg and Steve Cole continue the farming tradition, tending to their alpaca herd and Icelandic Horses with love and care. The farm features organic vegetable gardens, fruit trees, berry bushes, shitake logs, and flowers, creating a sustainable and enchanting environment for both animals and visitors.

Just 40 miles north of New York City, Faraway Farm Alpacas is a popular location for fashion shoots, weddings, theater productions, and more. Leda and Steve also offer educational tours, private events, and workshops throughout the year, sharing their passion for alpacas and sustainable farming practices.

Their journey into the world of alpacas began in 2007 when they fell in love with the charming creatures while passing a herd grazing by the roadside. Now, their alpacas spend their days peacefully grazing on the hillside meadows and are shorn once a year for their health and for their luxurious fleece. The farm sends their fleeces to a New England mill to be turned into yarn, which is used to create beautifully crafted apparel.
