Richard A. Noyes Bird Sanctuary
β OpenWelcome to the Richard A. Noyes Bird Sanctuary, a serene 90-acre haven located at 362-426 9 Mile Point Road, Oswego, New York, on the picturesque shores of Lake Ontario. Donated by Mr. Richard A. Noyes to the Onondaga Audubon Society in 1975, this sanctuary offers a unique opportunity for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers to immerse themselves in the wonders of avian life throughout the year. Spring is an especially vibrant time at the sanctuary, with the arrival of migrating owls such as Long-eared, Northern Saw-whet, and possibly Boreal Owls taking refuge in the pine plantations. As April progresses, visitors can spot sparrows, juncos, kinglets, and creepers along Nine Mile Point Road. The sanctuary's diverse habitats also offer sightings of house wrens, winter wrens, thrushes, warblers, vireos, and flycatchers.
