Dr. Johnson is a distinguished board-certified general surgeon and fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist, committed to advancing women's health. Growing up in Sugarloaf, NY, Dr. Johnson is thrilled to offer her exceptional breast care and surgical expertise to her community on Long Island.

Dr. Johnson's journey into medicine was ignited by her passion for science, art, and teamwork. She holds dual degrees in Biology and Women’s Studies from the University of Scranton. Her global experiences, including studying abroad in Rwanda, England, and Mexico, have enriched her understanding of diverse health systems and gender equity. Dr. Johnson's dedication extends beyond borders, as she plans to participate in medical mission trips abroad.

After earning her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Johnson completed her General Surgery Residency at Geisinger in Wilkes Barre, PA, where she served as the academic chief resident. She further honed her skills with a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, approved by the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO).

Inspired by her grandmother's battle with breast cancer, Dr. Johnson is deeply committed to providing comprehensive support and individualized care for each patient. She emphasizes the importance of a strong patient-provider relationship, ensuring treatment plans are tailored to suit individual needs. Dr. Johnson also recognizes the value of support networks, encouraging patients to include family, friends, and fellow cancer survivors in their journey.

Dr. Johnson is proficient in the latest surgical techniques, including SAVI, radioactive seed, tattooing, and needle localization. Her expertise also encompasses axillary reverse mapping, SLYMPHA, and various lymphatic mapping methods. She is well-versed in oncoplastic techniques, offering options like hidden scars and nipple-sparing mastectomies. Dr. Johnson collaborates with local plastic surgeons to provide comprehensive reconstructive options.

An advocate for research and education, Dr. Johnson has contributed to numerous publications and presented at regional and national conferences. Her research interests focus on lymphedema prevention, lobular carcinoma, and patient satisfaction outcomes, among others. As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Johnson integrates over 200 hours of osteopathic manipulative medicine training into her practice, promoting holistic health and wellness.

Residing in Smithtown with her husband and two cats, Charlie and Penny, Dr. Johnson enjoys running, swimming, cooking, and exploring Long Island in her free time.
