Our programming showcases remarkable independent films of all lengths, genres, and subjects from around the world, screened to the public over a ten-day period. We pride ourselves on selecting the best truly independent films, created by filmmakers who pour their passion and dedication into their productions without major studio backing. Supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, The New York State Council on the Arts, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Festival of Cinema NYC is dedicated to advancing the careers of emerging filmmakers and writers. We offer a platform for first, second, and third-time feature filmmakers, as well as short and episodic filmmakers looking to develop their work into features or series.

Originally displayed in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, NYC, the monument celebrates LL Cool J's profound impact on the music industry and his roots in Queens. Crafted from materials like bronze, resin, stainless steel, and wood, the monument is not just a visual masterpiece but also an auditory experience. Equipped with audio and lighting systems powered by solar energy, it plays a curated selection of LL Cool J's iconic tracks, which evolve over time to feature favorites chosen by DJs, friends, and fans.
