“The bad reviews are outdated - the school has done a lot to improve the campus for both residents and commuters. I transferred here 2 years ago from a different school, and am really so happy with my decision. The campus is beautiful and makes you forget that you're still on Long Island. You'll find some professors you don't love anywhere, but to my surprise I've met some of the best I've ever had (better than the private school I transferred from) Making friends as a commuter could be hard for some, but the people I've met here are kinder and friendlier than anywhere else I've been. Yes, some of the buildings are a bit run down, and yes the school doesn't have an A++ reputation. But it really defied my expectations for a lesser known SUNY school. If you're debating it, just know a bunch of people in your position were also just as skeptical - it's not that bad :)”
