"bathrooms were very clean. no spider webs or bugs. they clean them daily in the morning. A huge lake with lifeguards roped off areas with a diving platform. we brought our kayaks enjoyed it immensely. you can buy firewood outside the park as long as it's within 50 Miles. I recommend doing that."
"Great camping areas, they are improving different camping loops and the pavilions, so it will be even better next year! The lake is great for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Hiking paths around the lake, do not think you are using a bike with thin tires here. You need big mountain bike tires for the paths here as they do not want bikers on the camp roads."
"Had a wonderful time again at Gilbert Lake. There was a slight issue with our site, but the staff were quick to fix the situation. Shower house is always clean and well maintained. The waterfront has a great beach area and the playground is close by with a play area for little ones separate from the play area for older kids."
"Very well maintained park. Nice the park staff puts on events in the summer. Love the swimming areas as it is sandy. Love that kayak rental is $10/hour, $15 for double. Also have stand up paddle board rental. Great spot to fish. Love the campground. Large sites in the Deer Run loop. Bathrooms in the campground very well kept and no bugs. Would love to visit again. However there is absolutely no cell reception. Campgrounds are dog friendly. Beach area is dog friendly on the grass only. No dogs allowed in the water or the sand. Dogs can go on the kayak rental though."
