About the Business

Welcome to the Manorville Historical Society, a cherished gem located at 50 North Street, Manorville, New York. We invite you to step back in time and explore the rich history of our community through our meticulously curated museum, housed in the historic West Manor School. This charming two-room schoolhouse, built in 1929, served the educational needs of our town until the mid-1940s, with kindergarten through fourth grade in one classroom and fifth through eighth in the other.
Our museum showcases a fascinating collection of artifacts generously donated by local residents and their families. Discover a variety of items that paint a vivid picture of Manorville's past, including railroad memorabilia, treasures from local businesses, and beloved family heirlooms from bygone eras.
In addition to our museum, we operate a Thrift Store, stocked entirely through the generosity of our community. Open every Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 3 PM and on the first Saturday of each month during the same hours, our Thrift Store offers unique finds with all proceeds dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of our historic schoolhouse.
We are proud to share that this website is fully or partially funded by the County of Suffolk, ensuring that the history and heritage of Manorville remain accessible to all. We look forward to welcoming you to our museum and sharing the stories that have shaped our community.

"So much fun. Great prices. Nice people."
"Good place ,very Historical. The flea market was, good .I bought 16 cds for 20 Bucks ..."
"I enjoy the thrift store. They have great bargains for thrifters it's just crowded unorganized and difficult to really view any of the clothing. There is very little signage on the pricing for items and the piles seem to topple over a lot. It's for a good cause."
"*CASH ONLY* This place is cash only so if you're planning to go make sure to bring cash. My first time going was absolutely amazing I found a winter jacket and a few men's t-shirts which I was in need of, for an upcoming trip (very warm) Second time; I noticed the overall selection of clothes men's and women's was significantly worse than my previous visit of brand's that you can find at cheap department stores, did find a few items that I was pleased of. I asked about if they had more clothes the man told me "All clothing you see is what we got check back next week for more stuff, my wife handpicks the clothes to be sold," Third time; Same exact clothing from last time nothing new, decided to look through the massive pile of CD, DVD's, and PC games that were still there from the first time I was there over a year ago. Bought 4 PC games which the lady wanted $6, I know that's not a lot but those things been sitting there forever, and some were priced for $0.25 she finally let me buy all 4 for $3 after I negotiated and she complained they got expenses to cover. FYI it's better if you sell each for $0.25 so you can get rid of the large amount of CD's that keep growing (doesn't cost you anything since everything is donated)"
"*CASH ONLY* Great thrift shop opened Wednesday's and the 1st Saturday of every month. Be prepared to shift through things. Place is kept clean but is packed. The women/men who run the place are extremely nice and friendly."
