Dr. Stephen Vitkun is a highly experienced anesthesiologist who has dedicated over 40 years to providing exceptional care at Stony Brook University Hospital. As a Professor in the medical school, Dr. Vitkun has a passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of medical, nursing, and health professional students. Born and raised on Long Island, Dr. Vitkun completed his undergraduate education at Stony Brook University, where his interest in anesthesiology blossomed through his studies in pharmacology and physiology. His extensive experience in both clinical practice and research has allowed him to contribute significantly to the field of anesthesiology.
