Advanced arts studies in Dix Hills, New York

Five Towns College Interactive Computer Graphics (ICG) Division, located at 305 North Service Road in Dix Hills, New York, offers Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) and Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degrees in Interactive Media Arts (IMA). Led by Division Chair Sharon Ryba-Pertz, the program provides a challenging and idea-driven environment focused on creative design technologies such as 2D/3D Animation, Virtual Reality, and User Interface design. Students learn to apply digital design tools and creativity to develop portfolios and collaborate in creative professions. The program emphasizes portfolio development, career preparation, and real-world commercial art and design projects within a digital studio environment. Students integrate technical, historical, theoretical, and art/design criticism to create original portfolios suitable for evolving careers in interactive media arts. Courses cover effective communication in motion graphics, CAD/CAM for 3D animation, creative programming, and digital fabrication techniques like 3D printing.
