This 4,300-acre park stretches from Sandia Pueblo in the north to Isleta Pueblo in the south, along both sides of the Rio Grande. Established in 1983, the park is managed cooperatively by the Open Space Division and the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District. The park features the Paseo del Bosque trail, a 16-mile paved trail that runs along the east side of the river, perfect for activities such as hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The Rio Grande Valley State Park Trail Map provides access points throughout the park system.
