"I had the most wonderful exchange with Maria the owner today. She is the sweetest most engaging person I have had the pleasure to meet in a long time. Although I have lived in Union City for decades, I had not noticed this bakery. Be prepared to stay longer than you expected and purchase more than you planned! Everything is fresh and hand made with natural ingredients something I no longer expect. The customer service is something from days gone by and very welcomed to those like me of a certain generation, when this was the norm! I just finished eating a Hand rolled baklava (Sarali) and all I can say is WOW!!! I don't have enough adjectives to describe how happy I am to have found this gem in close proximity to my home! 100% recommendation!!"
"I only recently re discovered the Bakery. One of my favorites has always been the cheese strudel. I personally can tell you the Family are some of the kindest People you will ever meet. They were so welcoming to my Dad and I when we moved to Highlands in 1985 when I was just 18 and we had moved back from Germany. We met the Family as we lived in an Apartment next Door to their Home. My Husband and I will once again enjoy the amazing food and believe me, you'll want to order everything! Congrats to now nearly 100 years !!"
"Finally stopped here yesterday and bought a tray of Spanakopita. Just absolutely delicious. I am going to have to go back for another tray as I shared with my friends. I bought a tray of 12. Well I can tell you for going forward, my freezer will always have a tray. Ms Maria is simply delightful, she gave me one of her cookies, also yummy and I will buy those this next trip too. Very small place run by herself. Need I say more... one woman show, making for years and delicious!"
